The scientists, writers, poets, artists, representatives of international organizations and students gathered on 9 February in the National park of Uzbekistan to celebrate the 568th birthday of the famous poet Alisher Navoi.

The chairman of the Writer’s union Abdulla Aripov said the study and promotion of the heritage of Alisher Navoi was important in upbringing the youth.

In the years of independence, the full collection of the works of Navoi in 20 volumes was published. In his works, he wrote about peace, consent, tolerance and creativity.

The speakers at the event said the works of Navoi were not only the treasure of the Uzbek people, but of the whole mankind. They have been translated in many languages. Monuments to Navoi were raised in different countries.

Events dedicated to the famous poet’s birthday were held in all parts of the country.
