The main Library was founded1934 in with generous support of two libraries of Central Asian Cotton Irrigation Institute and Central Asian Agriculture Mechanization Institute.

In the beginning of 1950s the number of items composed to 200 000. In 1960 the Library has moved into new renovated building with total area of 819 m 2, the number of items has reached to 400 000.

At present, the total number of items is about 613770 out of 251054 are manuals and textbooks. Present area has expended to 5325 m 2. The reading room of the library is about 250, faculty reading room is 40 and 20 seat reading room for cataloging.
